Uxmal / Kabah Day Tour

Tour departs from your hotel at 9:00 am. Your first stop will be Kabah, the city is known as the second largest religious center in the Puuc style (Puuc is the maya name given to a series of low-lying hills with a unique culture and style) and flourished around the year 800 AD. It is connected with Uxmal by a “sac-be” (white road -Mayan highway) which begins right in the Arch, a kind of main door to the city.

The Palace is a building of great beauty, located on a high esplanade forming a quadrangle. The most remarkable construction however, is the Palace of the Masks, with an impressive facade comprised of over 250 masks of god Chaac, all finely cut from stone and positioned in a magnificent baroque-style extravagance. Situated southwest of Merida on the road to Campeche, 103 km from the city of Merida.

We'll then drive to Uxmal, declared World Heritage site by the United Nations, Uxmal, know as the “Three Times Built”. The architecture of Uxmal is among the most majestic in Yucatan. Uxmal, enveloped by legends, myths and anecdotes, poetic by name and by nature, is situated within a series of hills know as the Puuc or “mountainous area” in the Maya. The name was later given to describe the architectural style of the region. With the colossal Magicians Pyramid, impressive Governors Palace, intricate Dove’s Temple and grand Nuns Quadrangle.
After the sightseeing, enjoy the pool and the beautiful gardens of the Hacienda Uxmal Hotel. Have lunch at either the beautiful Hacienda Uxmal or in the gardens of the Lodge of Uxmal surrounded by unique Maya Palapas in the heart of UXMAL.
